2008's Detective Conan film from Yasuichiro Yamamoto, Detective Conan: Full Score of Fear, re-aired as the #1 movie on Japanese television during the August 15-21 week. It ran on August 19 at 9:00 p.m. and earned a 13.4 rating.

Though there are thousands of songs about a broken heart, users no.1 choices is Sonar Pocket’s hit song “Suki da yo. ~100-kai no Koukai~“, which had already ranked in 2nd place on Recochoku’s top list of digital singles for the first half of 2011.

Japan's Animation DVD Ranking, August 15-21


The Premium Edition for the live-action film adaptation of the Ashita no Joe sold 10,971 copies to debut at #1. The Standard Edition sold 4,369 copies at #11. AKB48's Maji Suka Gakuen 2 DVD-Box moved 10,314 units at #2. Meanwhile, AKB48's AKB ga Ippai ~The Best Music Video~ collection rose from #7 to #6 in its ninth week. It sold 5,595 more copies for a total of 347,702.

Japan's Animation Blu-ray Disc Ranking: August 15-21


The Premium Edition for the live-action film adaptation of the Ashita no Joe sold 7,006 copies to debut at #2. The Standard Edition sold 1,239 copies at #13.The Blu-ray Disc for the K-ON! Live Event ~Come with Me!!~ concert dropped from #6 to #15 in its third week. It sold 1,107 more copies for a total of 35,401.

Japan's Animation DVD Ranking, August 8-14


AKB48's AKB ga Ippai ~The Best Music Video~ collection rose from #14 to #7 in its eighth week. It sold 5,269 more copies for a total of 342,107. Takashi Yamazaki's live-action film adaptation (pictured right) of the Space Battleship Yamato anime rose from #30 to #18 in its eighth week. It sold 2,599 copies for a new total of 110,824.

Japan's Animation Blu-ray Disc Ranking: August 8-14


The Blu-ray Disc for the K-ON! Live Event ~Come with Me!!~ concert dropped from #1 to #6 in its second week. It sold 2,489 more copies for a total of 34,294. AKB48's AKB ga Ippai ~The Best Music Video~ collection rose from #20 to #11 in its eighth week. It sold 2,176 more copies for a new total of 135,782. The 2011 Spring concert Blu-ray Disc from Berryz Kobo sold 1,478 copies to debut at #12.

Japan's Animation TV Ranking August 1-7

The live-action radio special formed on a wartime manga Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni (In a Corner of This World) by Fumiyo Kono (Town of Evening Calm, Country of Cherry Blossoms) aired on Aug 5 during 9:00 p.m. It warranted a 12.7 rating.
