A Quarter of Japanese People has smartphones, one-third of them are iPhones


In Japan, around 102,700,000 people aged 13 or above have mobile devices. On a survey held by the US company comScore, from the total mobile device users, mobile phone users are 76.5%, and about 23.5% of it are smartphone users.


Between April and June of 2012, 4,000 mobile phone or smartphone users aged 13 or above completed a survey. Note that in Japan around 102,700,000 people aged 13 or above have mobile devices.

In terms of smartphone platform that is used, Android phone accounted for nearly two-thirds and iPhone (iOS) was just one-third.
