During a recent poll, 54% of women in their twenties confessed that they wanted to be proposed to, and 19% of their male counterparts answered that they’d like to try a proposal like the kind found in popular TV dramas. To find out what kind of proposals these young men would like to make, Hikari TV conducted a special poll to rank the most popular proposal scenes from movies and dramas.
Topping the list for dramas is the wildly popular 1991 series, “101kaime no Propose“, which tells the story of a man who meets a beautiful cellist during his 99th blind date. “Even now, (his line) ‘I won’t die, because I love you” remains in my memory,” said voters when asked to explain their choice.
The most popular proposal in movies was that of “Pretty Woman“. Women were swayed by the image of main character Richard Gere as he waits with a bouquet of roses.
