Japanese Box Office September 24-25

Moteki , the live-action film sequel to the manga-based television series debuted at No. 1 on Box Office Mojo's chart. It earned the equivalent of US$3,194,858 for a three-day total of US$5,056,138.

Japanese Box Office, September 17-18

Kokuriko-Zaka Kara, Goro Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli's anime adaptation of Chizuru Takahashi and Tetsurō Sayama's shōjo coming-of-age manga, dropped from No. 8 to No. 11. It earned the equivalent of US$496,674 for a new total of US$55,038,492. 

The Prince of Tennis: Eikoku-shiki Teikyū-jō Kessen!, the latest anime film based on Takeshi Konomi's manga, slipped from No. 13 to No. 14. It added US$310,253 for a new total of US$1,685,127. Continues to have the highest per-screen average, US$11,080, among the top 15 films.

Japanese Box Office September 10-11

Kokuriko-Zaka Kara dropped form No. 7 to No. 8 on Box Office Mojo's chart. However, it edged out this year's Pokémon films as the highest-grossing domestic film at the Japanese box office in 2011. It earned the equivalent of US$672,582 for a new total of US$53,799,452. 

The live-action film adaptation Yumi Unita's Usagi Drop film slipped from No. 11 to No. 12 in its fourth weekend. It added US$419,824 to its total-to-date of US$6,569,857.

Japanese Box Office, August 20-21


Kokuriko-Zaka Kara, Goro Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli's anime adaptation of Chizuru Takahashi and Tetsuro Sayama's shoujo manga, It stayed at No. 4 on Box Office Mojo's chart. It earned US$2,129,226 on 457 screens for a total of US$44,732,389.
